LG G4 and LG V10 will get Nougat update soon this year
Good news for LG smartphone users. LG has decide to give Nougat 7.0 update to LG G4 and LG V10 device this year 2017.
The LG G4 and LG V10 were both launched in 2015 and have received two updates since it was two year old, but 2017 marks the end of their update cycles.
The LG company has decided to give Nougat uodates, "respect for the consumer" "right to choose".
Previously the LG company has announced plan that it discontinue software updates for the two phones, saying that they were "not optimized with the latest Android version." but according to a recent report by Korean news agency Yonhap, the decision has been reversed after customer complaints that the cancellation of future updates represents "an infringement on their rights to choose."
The LG G4 and LG V10 were not on LG's queue to receive Android 7.0 Nougat update. These smartphones had Android version Lollipop, and they did receive their Marshmallow updates. But beyond that, they were not receiving an Official Nougat build:
However, the Nougat update for V10 will go live in the second half of 2017, while G4 will have to wait until the third quarter to get their Nougat updates.
The loose update schedule provided by LG applies to the South Korean variants of the LG G4 and V10. Others would be notified later this year.
