iPhone 8 with Sport 5.8-inch OLED Display
The upcoming iPhone to be launched this year, will come in three configurations.
Apple is reportedly launching his three variants of its upcoming iPhone, including a 5.8-inch OLED display and the other two with LCD displays.
According to Nikkei Asian Review, "the upcoming iPhone, to be launched this fall, will come in three configurations - two with liquid crystal displays and one with a 5.8-inch organic light-emitting diode display."
With use of an OLED display and the introduction of yet another large-screened iPhone, Nikkei claims that the average iPhone price would thus be raised beyond the current, nearly $700-mark (roughly Rs. 42,800). No other details were mentioned by the publication, but as we mentioned, the report falls in line with previous claims.
The report also claimed that priced at $1,000, iPhone 8 will be the most expensive smartphone Apple has ever released. In February, a report claimed that out of the a 5.8-inch display only 5.15-inch would be usable. The rest of the space would features a "function area". Apple upcoming iPhone 8 would also comes with wireless charging.
The company was also planning to introduce a new connector type for accessories for the iPhone, iPad and other devices throught its official made-for-iPhone licensing programme.
"Apple iPhone 8 will be about the same size as that of its predecessor, but will pack of battery of a 'Plus' variant - iPhone 7Plus, which features 5.5-inch screen and is powered by 2700mAh of battery," Kuo explained.
In his reports, Kuo stated the substrate- like PCB mainboard will result in the OLED display iPhone 8 having similar dimensions to a 4.7-inch iPhone, yet comparable battery life to a 5.5-inch iPhone. To make it possible, Kuo is expecting Apple to include an L-shaped two cell battery pack with a 2700mAh battery capacity.
